About This Checkered Flag Pokie Guide
Learn about our Checkered Flag pokie guide for Australian players. Editorial mission, methodology, and how we help you play online.
Our Mission
Checkered Flag AU exists to help Australian players understand the Checkered Flag - Lightning Dollar Link pokie and find safe, licensed venues where they can play it online for real money.
We focus on one game because depth beats breadth. Rather than listing hundreds of pokies with shallow reviews, we've built a comprehensive resource around Checkered Flag: its mechanics, where to play it, how to manage your bankroll, and what responsible gambling looks like.
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Bet multiplier | A figure the game applies to a line win, most often inside the feature round. |
| Pokie | The Australian name for a slot machine, online or on a venue floor. |
| Reels | The columns of symbols that spin; a 5x3 game has five columns, three symbols deep. |

How We Research
Our content is grounded in:
- Official Aristocrat documentation
- Game specifications, RTP ranges, and feature descriptions from the provider.
- Player videos & session footage
- Real gameplay on YouTube to verify hit frequency, bonus triggers, and payout patterns.
- Australian regulatory context
- State gambling laws, responsible gambling services, and how offshore licensing works.
- Operator transparency
- Terms of service, bonus conditions, and payment policies from licensed online casinos.
We avoid opinion-based language ("exciting," "the best," "in my view") and instead describe what the game does, what it costs to play, and what support is available if gambling becomes a problem.

Why Checkered Flag?
Checkered Flag - Lightning Dollar Link is one of Australia's most popular modern pokies. It appears in major casinos, leagues clubs, and pubs across NSW, QLD, VIC, and SA. Many players encounter it in person and want to understand its features or find it online.
Unlike generic pokie review sites that cover 500+ games superficially, we've chosen to become experts in one title. This lets us explain Hold & Spin mechanics in detail, compare it fairly to Dragon Link and other Lightning titles, and help you decide whether it matches your play style.
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Session bankroll | The amount set aside for one sitting, decided before it starts rather than during it. |
| Demo mode | The game running on virtual credit. The maths is the same; the balance is not real. |
Transparency & Disclaimers
- We are not a casino. We do not accept deposits, offer gambling services, or hold player funds.
- Offshore casinos carry risk. Any online casino operating outside Australia is not regulated by ACMA or state gambling authorities. Play only with money you can afford to lose.
- Gambling can cause harm. If you find yourself chasing losses, hiding gambling from family, or using credit to gamble, contact Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858 or Lifeline on 13 11 14.
- RTP varies by venue. Aristocrat supplies Checkered Flag with multiple RTP settings (89.8% - 94.47%). The actual return at your local pub or online casino depends on which chip the operator has chosen.
